Thanksgiving 2010
Lake of the Ozarks
Even before the Thanksgiving Season starts, there is always great food available around the Lake of the Ozarks. Fresh and wholesome food is something that the Ozarks are famous for growing and cooking and with the many fall festivals in the Ozarks region, you will be hard pressed not to find yourself sipping some delicious homemade apple cider or eating a delicious pumpkin, apple, or strawberry rhubarb pie!
And of course, as Thanksgiving approaches, people are already thinking about the Christmas holiday too. That's why the Christmas Craft Fair at Linn Creek is such a popular place for people to go on October 30th and 31st. The Camden County Museum plays host to this great event that showcases the arts and crafts of the people of the Ozarks.

Thanksgiving 2010 at the Lake of the Ozarks -- Continue
On November 4th, the Annual Start Chef's March of Dimes Benefit Auction gets your appetite ready for the Thanksgiving feast and celebrates the spirit of the season by benefiting at great cause over in Osage Beach. Then on November 20th, before your big Thanksgiving meal with family and friends, why not enjoy breakfast with Santa over in Lake Ozark. Both Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be on hand to talk to the kids.
And of course, the biggie is the start of the Annual Lake Lights Festival on November 27th. This is a much anticipated event each year and means that the joyous Christmas season is upon us.
But what about Thanksgiving? Well, the best way to celebrate Thanksgiving is with family and friends. One way that folks like to combine the Lake of the Ozarks and Thanksgiving is by renting a beautiful vacation rental and bringing the whole family to the gorgeous setting to eat, drink, and be merry together.
Of course, if you would prefer someone else to do the cooking, that's no problem. Take a walk along the Bagnell Dam Strip or in any of the small communities along the lake and you will find plenty of great restaurants that are willing to serve up your Turkey Day dinner with all of the trimmings. Cranberry sauce, potatoes, stuffing, apple and pumpkin pies, and plenty of great drinks and sweets to go with it.
Don't be surprised if you see crowds in some of the Lakeside pubs. Football is big in the Ozarks and people love to get together after the meal with friends and watch the games on big screen satellite televisions in the sports bars and pubs of the area.
Thanksgiving is, of course, a time to give thanks and when you are staring out at the Lake of the Ozarks, you certainly have a lot to be thankful for.
