Santa in the Square at Camdenton, MO

Christmas in the square has become one of the most beloved holiday traditions of the Lake of the Ozarks for families who live around the shores of the great Lake of the Ozarks. This popular festival is hosted by the Camdenton Chamber of Commerce and is a great way to help the city of Camdenton and Camden County to bring all the joy of Christmas to residents and visitors alike.

The day is a true wonderland of games, crafts, visits with Santa, and plenty of Christmas carols. The most anticipated moment is when Santa Clause arrives and fills the wish list of children with hope, but until that moment, there is more than enough to keep kids and adults occupied and having a great time.

Santa in the Square at Camdenton, MO -- Continue

For those wanting an early start, kids under 12 can have breakfast with Santa from 9:00 a.m until noon at the nearby CJ's restaurant. From noon until 2:30 p.m. there will be a workshop where kids of all ages can make ornaments and have fun with arts and crafts. The major focus will be on making a nativity scene from the ornaments. Don't think the folks of Camdenton have left the baby Jesus out of his own birthday.

Through the day there will be prize drawings including drawings for Turkeys. An inflatable fire truck will be on hand for the little firemen to man (or woman), and a petting zoo will bring some adorable pictures for the memory books. Games, prizes, hot chocolate, cookies, and even holiday hot dogs will be on hand for the enjoyment of those attending.

There will be plenty of entertainment too with the Ha Ha Tonka Clown Troop, gymnastics, choirs, and the magic of magician Jamie Norton who will perform his magic as 'Buddy the Elf.” Santa will arrive at 2:30 p.m. on a fire truck and will hear the wish lists of the kids present.

How much does all of this cost? It's all free! That's really in the spirit of the holidays. The good folks in Camdenton don't believe in making a profit on holiday fun. Instead, they want the residents and visitors in the area to know that a good old fashioned Christmas doesn't have to be all about profits. Sure, you can go to the mall in any city and pay to have your child see a fake Santa, but everyone knows that the real Santa always insists on meeting the kids for free because he doesn't want to end up with a lump of coal in HIS stocking!
