Lake of the Ozarks Eagle Days 2011
When the first edition of the Eagle Days was held in 1999, close to 700 people attended it. Since then, this event has gained a lot of popularity among people of the United States and last year, in 2010, close to 4000 people attended this event at the Lake of the Ozarks. The Lake of the Ozarks Convention and Visitor Bureau in collaboration with the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and Osage National Golf Resort host the Eagle Days each year.
This is one of the most educational events because visitors to this region can get up close with the eagle and understand its habitat. Naturalists present at the venue will be more than glad to answer any of your queries about these elegant birds. Every program during the course of the event will be conducted at the Osage National Golf Resort.
The other highlights of the Eagle Days are the arts and crafts fair that will be held at Willmore Lodge. If good weather prevails, you can also be a part of the Eagle watch cruises. Paddlewater Tom Sawyer offers these cruises on both days. On Saturday, the cruise timings are 11am, 12 noon, 1pm and 2pm. On Sunday, the timings are 11am, 12 noon and 1pm. You will have to pay a nominal fee of $5 to be a part of this cruise. To enjoy the view better and capture memorable pictures, ensure you have cameras and binoculars handy. You can take pictures of these birds below Osage River’s Bagnell Dam or at Willmore Lodge.
If you want to be a part of this fun and educational event, plan a trip to the Ozarks on the 8th and 9th of January 2011. The event is on from 9am to 4pm on Saturday, 8th January and from 10am to 3pm on Sunday, 9th January.
