Any visitor who comes to the Ozarks will not be able to cover the entire region and understand the art and culture of the Ozarks. The need to understand the culture and art of this place gave rise to the Annual Art and Ambiance Fair at the Ozarks.

This event is the brainchild of Bob Schwartz, a marketing consultant, who along with Rita Orr and Joseph, the local artisans of the Ozarks , initiated it in the year 2007. Since then, there has been no turning back. The Art and Ambiance Fair was a hit right from the word go! Today, this event brings together all the people of the Ozarks, who contributed to its culture and arts. Thousands of people from various parts of the United States and other countries visit this fair each year. In 2009, there were close to 2500 people who made a beeline to the Ozarks for a glimpse of its rich culture and heritage.

There are a large number of booths set up at the Stone Crest Mall which is located on Highway 54. This has been the venue for this fair right from its inception 4 years ago. A large number of artifacts are put on display and also for sale in each of these booths. Some of the famous painters of the Ozarks display their paintings for sale at affordable prices. There are innumerable water paintings on display, in addition to the acrylic and oil counterparts.

The craftsmen and skilled artisans of the Ozarks offer a wide range of handmade wooden carvings, jewelry and other artifacts made of handmade paper, copper and iron. There are booths that are dedicated to photography too. Many art galleries in this region make use of this opportunity to sell some of their rare and exclusive paintings. They also have art consultants stationed at their booths in order to help the amateur visitors who would like to purchase their art pieces.

There is more to the Annual Art and Ambiance Fair than just the artifacts and paintings. A number of famous breweries in the region conduct wine and spirit tasting events. You can taste spirits of all types, ranging from the “sake” from Japan to the wines from the Ozarks vineyards. Some of the famous wineries that take part in this two day event are Adam Puchta Wineries, Meramec Wineries, Seven Springs Wineries, Grey Bear Vineyards, Summit Lake Winery and Robbler Vineyard. Some of the famous eateries that have their booths set up during this fair are Domines and The Copper Pot.

Local bands that specialize in classic rock, jazz and blues perform during the Annual Art and Ambiance Fair at the Ozarks. Famous local authors make use of this opportunity to market and sell autographed books.
