The Annual Lake of the Ozarks Offshore Super Series National Championship Race is a competition in which some of the fastest boats in the world compete with each other to display their worth. This race is considered to be as prestigious as NASCAR, with the only difference being that this event is for boats.
Every September The Horny Toad is host to the Offshore Super Series, National Championships. Upwards of 50 of the fastest boats in the world will race on the lake in front of The Horny Toad Entertainment Complex and The Resort Hotel and Marina. These state-of-the-art racing boats reach speeds upwards of 200 miles per hour while competing for the National Championship.
Each year, thousands of eager spectators flock to this part of the world to witness this national championship. Race Village at the Ozarks is the place where hundreds of competitors line up their boats and get ready to take on the challenge. The event starts off with preliminary rounds which test the ability of the boats to take part in the competitions. The boats that qualify will head to the final round which involves taking a maximum of 16 laps depending on the category of the boat.
Spectators can watch the speed boats competing against each other either from their boats or from the shoreline. While the admission for children below the age of 12 is free, there is a charge of $60 per adult. The $60 charge includes the entrance fee and also the fee for the music concerts that are held post the event and the awards ceremony.
