Bridge the Gap for Life 2010
Lake of the Ozarks
(September 18th, 2010)

On September 18th there will be a beautiful and scenic walk across the Community Bridge to raise money in support of the Pregnancy Help Center and Maternity Home. Entrants are invited to come along to Paul’s Supermarket at HH in Lake Ozark for 8am to register their participation. The walk over the Community Bridge will begin around 9am.

The Community Bridge links the east St. Louis side of the Lake of the Ozarks with the west Kansas City side. Construction on the resultant bridge began in 1995 and it was finally dedicated in 1989. Today, the Community Bridge serves as a key traffic artery for local tourism and traffic. It has also helped to develop a better business and recreational environment for the local Lake Ozark community. At 1.8 mile long, it is an easy walk across the Lake Ozark and a great way to enjoy some local scenery in the company of friends, while at the same time, raising money for a great local cause.

Once participants have completed the walk, there are lots of other fun activities planned to entertain kids for the rest of the day. The organizers say that there will be face painting, clowns, a huge moonwalk inflatable, plus lots of booths selling, gifts, trinkets, food, drink, and a million other fun items. The event is an ideal opportunity to bring the family along to support local maternity facilities for women in the Lake Ozark area.

The Community Bridge Pregnancy Help Center and Maternity Home are valuable resources for women of all ages in the Lake of the Ozarks. The clinic offers free and impartial advice to any woman who believes she might be pregnant. They also provide free pregnancy testing, ultrasound scans, and counseling. All of the services are completely confidential and any woman who comes to the center looking for advice will find someone who can explain the options, and more importantly, who cares.

This important facility for Lake Ozark women relies on charity events organized by its friends to raise valuable and much needed money so that new and improved resources can be provided for those in need of help. Any participation in the fund raising events and/or donations is always greatly received.

Anyone who is interested in this fun, local charity event who would like further information, or would like to help in other ways, please contact the organizers at 573-365-2345 for further information
