Lake of the Ozarks Docks & Lifts

The Lake of the Ozarks is a very popular destination for those people who enjoy boating. Every year, thousands of visitors come to enjoy the spectacular scenery from the deck of a boat. Whilst some hire boats for their vacation, many others already have a boat for use on the lake.

If you own a boat, having use of a dock on the lake is very important. A dock is essentially the place where you moor your boat while it is not in use. These can range from a single dock suitable for one boat, through to commercial docks suitable for many boats and PWCs.

Docks & Lifts at the Lake of the Ozarks -- Continue

A typical example of a commercial dock would comprise concrete decking, six 16x48 slips, and twelve 16x40 slips. It would also contain a number of slips suitable for keeping PWCs under a roof. Dock features include underwater bracing and sea anchor winches. The cost of a commercial dock of this caliber would be around $100,000.

At the other end of the scale, a single residential slip dock made from encapsulated foam that is suitable for one boat, comprising of a boat slip, a covered area, a swim platform wide enough for both fishing and swimming, would cost in the region of $1,500.

New docks tend to be more expensive. A brand new, single slip dock with concrete decking would cost around $20,000. A new dock with wooden decking is cheaper at around $9,000. Location is also a factor. For example, docks in the more popular areas will cost relatively more than docks in an isolated cove. Some docks have sun decks, whereas others do not. So it is important for you to decide what features are important, as well as the location you require, before you begin to shop around for a boat dock on Lake of the Ozarks.

A boat lift is another desirable piece of equipment should you own a boat and wish to use it at Lake of the Ozarks. A boat lift enables you to move your boat from a trailer into the water, and vice versa.

A boat lift with a capacity large enough to lift a cruiser, would cost anywhere from $20,000 plus installation, to as much as $45,000. A smaller capacity boat lift suitable for moving a small boat would cost in the region of $5,000. A boat lift suitable for PWCs would cost around $1,000. Prices will vary according to manufacturer and load capacity.
