Why I Love The Hy-Vee At Lake Of The Ozarks

December 14th, 2009

I live near St. Louis Missouri and I am sad to say that I do not have a Hy-Vee grocery store near by. However when I go to the Lake of the Ozarks for a vacation I stop at the local Hy-Vee grocery store for all of my necessities. With their large deli and meat market you will find a lot of things that you won't find at other grocery stores. They have these giant stuffed mushrooms for only $8. Not only is the price reasonable but the taste is phenomenal. Plus Hy-Vee also has a great selection of wine & spirits at great prices. If you should work up an appetite while shopping there is also a restaurant that you can eat at while in the store. If you are planning a trip to Lake Ozarks Missouri I would recommend that you make a pit stop at the local Hy-Vee.

A Fun Time At Bagnell Damn Strip

December 8th, 2009

We had a blast when we went to the Bagnell Damn Strip while vacationing at Lake of the Ozarks Missouri. We started with a few games of 10 cent ski ball at one of the several arcades located on the strip. I must say not only was it fun to play it was also a very affordable price at only a dollar for 10 games. Next we tried our hand at the bumper boats which was also a great time. My only regret is that I wore jeans and they got a little wet, so walking around the strip afterwards was not as enjoyable as I would have liked. Next we check out a few of the shops where we found some cool gifts and keep sakes of our trip. Finally we worked up a small hunger from all of the excitement so we stopped at Grandma's Kitchen Candy store for some sweet and tasty treats. I had a good time at the Bagnell Damn Strip and I can't wait to back again soon.

Stockton's A Terrible Choice To Dine

December 7th, 2009

From the moment I walked in to Stockton's Restaurant in Osage Beach, MO (Lake of the Ozarks) I was treated with disrespect and rudeness. The weather was beautiful so my party of four asked to be seated in the outside patio to dine. The hostess then said to us "in a very disgusted tone" that she would have to clean off a table for us and then she proceeded to roll her eyes and then sigh as she stormed off. She then stopped about half way to tell us to come on and follow her again in an even ruder tone. I know everyone can have a bad day so I was willing to let this slide. However we were then seated at a dirty table and waited there for close to 20 minutes before the table was cleaned followed by then another 10 minutes before our waiter finally came to take our drink order. When we received our drinks and did not receive straws plus one of my friends in the group received an extremely dirty glass given to them. We asked for straws and for a new glass which we did not receive until we received our meal. Plus in typical poor restaurant service we got our appetizers the same time as our meal. The waiter and hostess really seemed to hate their jobs and were both very rude. I think they should find a different line of work and I will never eat at Stockton's Restaurant or recommend it to anyone I know.
