Welcome to the world of the Lake of the Ozarks. A premiere outdoor arena with a number of popular campgrounds, the Bagnell Dam River Park is steadily becoming one of the most popular destinations in the region. The 148 foot tall Bagnell Dam, which was built by the Union Electric Company near Osage River to create the Lake. Its name is derived from William Bagnell.
Coming back to the Bagnell Dam River Park, one visit will be sufficient enough to convince you that it's an epitome of fun and excitement. The park is a paradise for racing lovers by holding the adrenaline pumping Figure 8 races on a regular basis. Most races are held on weekends, which is why it might a great idea to arrive in a day earlier do some sightseeing prior to catching the racing action.
Another major attraction of the Park is the Bike Week is the drive-in movies showcased regularly for car-crazy movie addicts who are either too lazy or too busy to get of their cars! The collection of movies is interesting and varied, which keeps boredom at bay. However, that is not all.
The 'Bike Week' features a number of yearly entertainment-based events. These include races, concerts and live musical performances. During last year's Bike events held between September 16 and 18, bands like Straight Shooter and 7 Bridges rocked the stage big time. Add some good food, fun and frolic to your plans and you have a nice party-like atmosphere in a family park!
