Lake of the Ozarks Speedway
For the speed demon in all of you out there, the Lake of the Ozarks has a treat for you that is sure to thrill and keep you entertained until you can hardly stand. The Lake of the Ozarks Speedway gives visitors the opportunity to live out their wildest speed freak fantasies and then some. With a track loops around a one-third mile banked oval (that is 1850 ft. on the outside and 1450 ft. on the inside), it’s sure to give you the thrill of a lifetime.
It’s a clay surface, so the grip is impeccable (meaning that this is a track race ready for children and adults alike without fear of heavy slipping and sliding --though there’s plenty of that for anyone who craves a thrill). There are camping spots available on this racetrack --though there are no hook-ups in place for any heavy electronics. There’s a playground for the young ones, parking for motor heads and their motorbikes, and a closed circuit TV so you can chart any races as they take place.
If you’re not the active participation type, there’s nothing wrong with a little vicarious living. The Lake of the Ozarks Speedway is an incredible track that offers a couple dozen races throughout the year beginning in early April. Children aged 12 and under get in free of charge and the tickets are exceptionally reasonable for the kid at heart, starting at $11 --if you’re looking to shake hands with your favourite racer, pit passes cost a mere $25.
With events that occur throughout the spring and summer months, there are a few hotels within the proximity of the track so you don’t have to travel lengthy wide streets just to get a seat at the races: Heritage Inn & Suites, Town & Country Motel, and Howard Johnson are all relatively close to the track, ensuring you get to the pit in time to see the earliest race --starting at 7 pm.
If you’ve got a young one who’d like the experience the flash and fast pace of the racing circuit, there are signups always available for those juniors who want a chance at the racing big time. Though it may be past due for the adults in the family the children may still have the grit to go for it with all their might. If that’s the case, then you should check out the racing criteria for the Speedway, find out what kind of accommodations there are for the kids and when they can start their little engines.
The Lake of the Ozarks Speedway is an incredible piece of land, sure to make any race fan’s heart speed in circles. The racing season begins in the spring, plenty of time for you to get yourself some tickets for the next race. If you’re in the mood for something fast and furious, then take advantage of the revving good time that the Lake of the Ozarks has to offer in the way of their infamous Speedway.
