Halloween 2010
Lake of the Ozarks

First of all, if you want to really get a good scare, you should head to the Laurie Fairgrounds for one of the best family fun activities around. The Haunted Hayride will be scaring the pants off of kids and adults alike on October 22nd and October 23rd this year. The ride starts at 7:00 pm and will frighten everyone with ghosts, goblins, witches, and more than a few surprises. This local favorite has been running for twelve years now and is a great way to see the park in Laurie in a very different light.

Over at Sunrise Beach, the Fall Fest Family Fun kicks off on October 23rd at 8:00 am. Located on the F Road at Sunrise beach there are fun activities and games that will keep the family laughing and having a great time all day. Live music, horse and pony rides (including Clydesdales!), magicians, apple bobbing, and of course some face painting will keep the kids smiling and the adults laughing too.

Halloween 2010 at the Lake of the Ozarks -- Continue

One of the most popular activities at this time each year is the Shryock's Corn Maze which started on September tenth and will continue until November 7th. Located at 2927 County Road 253 in Camdenton, this fun and giant corn maze will confound, confuse, and amuse. Just make sure you bring your GPS because it's easy to get lost in this maze and you don't want to miss out on the other Halloween fun in the Lake of the Ozarks region.

Also in Camdenton, the annual 4-H Costume Parade on October 23rd is one of those events you don't want to miss out on. The Parade runs from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and is a great chance for the kids to show off their costumes and the costumes they've put together for their animals too. Horses, ponies, sheep, and more than a couple very cute puppies in Halloween costumes too.

On October 30th, the West Lake Christian Church in Laurie sponsors the Annual Fall Festival. With a haunted house, a spaghetti dinner, and great Ozarks music by the Potter's Wheel Bluegrasss Gospel Band, this event will set the mood for you and fill your belly for just $10 for adults and $5 for the kids.

There's always something fun and spooky happening around the Lake of the Ozarks at Halloween. Come check it out and you are sure to have a scary time!
