Great Lake of the Gospel Sing
(April 7th-9th, 2011)
While it is true that the Lake of the Ozarks is home to some of the craziest events on Earth, the people in this region also revere and respect their culture greatly. The Lake of the Ozarks Gospel Sing is an event that stands proof to this spirit of the locals. This is a three day festivity that pays tribute to Christian music and enthralls the visitors with some of the best in this field of music. Started over 13 years ago, this event has gained widespread popularity and is well attended by people not just in the United States, but also other parts of the world. Head to the Ozarks on the 7th, 8th and 9th of April, 2011 to witness this event and celebrate your culture.
Great Osage River Project
Engineering masterpieces are no longer as rare as they used to be in the earlier part of the twentieth century. The Great Osage River Project was one of the greatest engineering marvels of that era. It caused quite a stir not only during the time of its construction, but also after its monumental success among tourists. Thousands of visitors flock to Osage River each year and can't stop admiring the precision with which the project was executed. Although this project was originally intended to be a viable power generation source, it ended up playing a far more important role by fueling the economy of Missouri.

Lake Ozarks Amphitheater
The Lake of the Ozarks is a vast aquatic playground located just about 170 miles from Kansas City and 180 miles from St. Louis. It offers plenty of recreational activities for people of all ages. If you want to witness the true powerboat racing event, then you should be present at the Lake of the Ozarks for the Offshore Super Series National Championship Race which is an annual boating event for powerboat lovers. Every year in September, the Horny Toad Entertainment Complex transforms itself into one of the most happening places in this region, thanks to the thousands of boaters who gather to witness this event. This is probably the most attended boating event in the Ozarks not just because of the number of boats that come down to take part, but also because it is the final boating race of the year, thereby making victory doubly sweet for the winners of this prestigious event.

Lake of the Ozarks Parks
The Lake of the Ozarks State Park covers over 17,000 acres. The lake is a favorite for those enjoying water sports and the surrounding area boasts many parks and hiking trails. Besides the main park, there are many other areas nearby to explore nature. One of these is the little known Tunnel Dam, which was built solely on private funds and created a lake which is a smaller version of the Lake of the Ozarks itself. There are sites for archery, caves, hiking trails, small dams, swinging bridges, and the castle ruins of Ha Ha Tonka. The parks surrounding the Lake of the Ozarks offer nature, adventure, and history to its visitors.
